Nick Warren at the Blue Frog

Nick Warren at the Blue FrogNick Warren coming to the Blue Frog, was a little more than a Richter Scale 9 amongst the tightly knit and sparse population that really knows their progressive.

And when the gig actually set in, the expectations were met and how!

Toasting the night was Sanjay Dutta, as he took it deep, hard and tech-driven with a complete fill-up of the dance floor taking place as sultry and aggro progressive was met with a smoother vibe. It laid the perfect platform for some heavier, melodic synth-based progressive to come from the main man.

For someone who began DJing, right about the same time as I was born, there has to be an incredible amount of talent, virtuosity and diligence for him to translate that inimitable sound, that absolute catholic nature of the silken melodies, the thumping luscious kicks and super-harmonic basslines that transcend years and music, like nothing you’ve seen before.

As part of a long distinguished pedigree of super-DJs such as John Digweed, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold and many more, Warren’s class lies in his devotion to consistently varying sounds, from lush melodic horn stabs to grittier and dark overtones of tech-y elements, the entire set was an A—Z EDUCATION is how to play progressive. So multi-layered, complex and utterly dance-able, Warren laid the set out to the floor and buzzed it with electricity that the pretty populated Frog took to instantly.

It was every bit the invigorating, surprising (Yeke Yeke in the middle :D) to downright legendary. It was a delicious, delectable night of high quality progressive. But mind you, not everyone quite understood how good this gig was, just the way the high iodine content of a Laphroaig single malt isn’t for everyone.

One of the better DJs I’ve heard.. For sure. The flow was a little inconsistent, but the track selection was monsterous!! I’d definitely go listen to him again. BTW, I also hears his !angalore gig was a complete mind-bender.

Mumbai is deemed to be the EDM capital of India. And still we sometimes get a little lost hearing this genre of music.
Laphroaig ? Try asking 5 friends to pronounce this. BTW very very superior Single Malt used to the association with Nick Warren.
most idiots will miz it with soda and heaps of ice.
Pronounced : Laugh-ro-aaah!!!!!
Cheers
