On Christmas Day 2009, the Indian music fraternity lost one of its most talented and versatile musicians. Asheem Chakravarty, singer and percussionist for India’s premier band Indian Ocean is no more.
Earlier this year in October, news of Asheem entering into a Coma while on a world tour with his band sent shock waves across the globe. His fans had their fingers crossed over the past two months and were praying for the best. But unfortunately on Friday afternoon Asheem breathed his last after suffering a severe heart attack.
Asheem was 52, and is survived by his wife and a teenage son.
