Mayur Narvekar, one half of the famous ‘Bandish Projekt’ will now conduct workshops based around the basics of audio engineering.
The project titled ‘Bandish Beatfaktory’ does exactly this:

If you’ve always wanted to make music your business, here’s your chance to bring the vision to life, LIVE and LOUD. Bandish BeatFaktory, an initiative by Bandish Projekt, is a wild new workshop model that teaches how to twist tools and create the most original sounds, BP style. It’s not just a place to learn instruments and applications. It’s a method that lets you absorb sound and rhythm. It’s a platform that helps evolve skill and technique. It’s a space where you can listen with your mind, and create with your soul. Out here, you don’t graduate till you’re breathing, thinking and living music.

The vibe of the BBF sessions is simple: when you’re tuned into the zone, the tunes will flow. The workshop is programmed to provide key insights into how Bandish Projekt creates its brand of music. You’ll spend two-days-and-nights in a peaceful upcountry location. You’ll disconnect from the mindless drone of the city, to connect with a higher sound. You’ll bunk with Bandish Projekt a.k.a Mayur Narvekar. You’ll watch him eat, drink and sleep music, and wonder why you haven’t done it all your life.

Once you’ve taken in your surroundings, Mayur will take you on one wicked trip after another. Drum ‘n’ bass. Hip-hop. House. Electronica. You’ll learn how to produce some killer grooves across all the massive genres of contemporary dance music..The workshop will open with lessons on making tracks in Reason 4. Additional tutorials will be included on modules like NNXT sampler, DR.XLOOP, SUBSTRACTOR, REDRUM along with effects modules such as RV 7000 REVERB, SCREAMER, FLANGER, DISTORTION and the like. On Day 2, Mayur will illustrate the genius behind some of BP’s own full-on creations. Giving a hands-on demo of how the tracks were made essentially out of disorder, using REASON 4 functions and other tools.

Bandish Projekt’s unique formula was derived from an innate sense of experimentation in sound. Without experimentation, there can be no creation. That’s why we’re making sure you get plenty of time and room to play around with your own sound. We’ll also have casual chats in the evening when you can exchange ideas and inputs with Bandish Projekt, and other members of the workshop.

Bandish Beat Faktory would have introduced a fresh new breed of artists into the music market: Artists drenched in the frenzy of sound, armed with a bold musical streak, and infused with radical ideas on how to make every creation a dance floor sensation.
