“Blue Plaque” honour for Keith Moon

Blue Plaque honour for Keith MoonPerhaps the greatest example of showmanship meeting musicianship - Keith Moon, the late drummer of the legendary classic rock band The Who, is to going to be honoured by a “Blue Plaque,” which will be placed at a former site of the London Marquee Club, one of Keith’s most favourite joints.

Earlier the body responsible for the allotment of “Blue Plaques” had denied providing one to Keith Moon, in view of his reckless conduct (which included driving a Rolls Royce into a hotel lobby), but after much persuasion by Moon fans, the body in charge have decided in favour of the Rock n Roll legend.

Other famous names to be honoured by the “Blue Plaque” include, Jimi Hendrix, Benjamin Franklin and Sherlock Holmes. The Plaque will unveiled by Keith’s former band members - Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.
