Apple officially announced today, the new features that are part of the latest version of their music software application, GarageBand ‘09. The latest version has some great additions, with the stand out ones being the lessons section, which are subdivided into a ‘Basic Lessons’ section and an ‘Artist Lesson’. The basic lessons cover piano and guitar lessons, taught through video instructionals and an animated instrument display.
The more exciting of the lessons the ‘Artist Lessons’ section allow the users to learn songs from the artists themselves. The section provides in-depth chord positioning and technique tips relating to each song. Users can play along with the instructors and once they feel confident they can even jam along with the entire band. In addition, each song comes included with a clip of the story behind the song in the artist’s words. These lessons would have to be purchased from the Lesson Store from with GarageBand.
The old guitar features have been added upon and users can now view their entire set-up (amps, speaker cabinet, stompboxes) in 3D form. The new ‘Magic GarageBand Jam’ feature provides the users a complete jam atmosphere with a visually appealing on stage display of each instrument, perfect for pre recording, confidence boosting rehearsal.
GarageBand ‘09 comes included in the Apple multimedia software suite iLife ‘09.
