Guitar virtuoso John McLaughlin’s latest work ‘Floating Point’, hits the streets on the 20th of May. Recorded primarily in India, the album will boast of having some of the best musicians in the Indian scene playing on it.
Drumming sensation Ranjit Barot, percussionist Sivamani and Jazz veteran Louiz Banks will provide the backbone of the album, while Mclaughlin regular Shankar Mahadevan will make a guest appearance. One of the highlights of the album will be the tribute to the late great Alla Rakha Khan on the track ‘Abbaji’.

Awesome! more mind altering stuff! hope its available in India as soon as its released. But no, our stores would rather scramble for the latest 50 pence album than even bother to know or stock McLaughlin. Hope every Mclaughlin lover goes badgering to the music shops, asking them about the album after reading this… maybe that might knock some sense into them and they would realise that people do listen to good music too.
