Kishori Amonkar in concert

Hinduatani classical vocalist Kishori Amonkar will be performing at the Tata Theatre on Friday the 22nd. Kishori is the renowned daughter of Mogubai Kurdikar has netted a place for herself in the field of classical music. The Padma Vibhushan (2002) winner has a style of her own developed by fusing classical and non classical styles of music.

The concert is organized by the family of Kiran Khanna, a lady who died in February earlier this, in the midst of a robbery. The concert will be dedicated in her memory and will be the first of many annual concerts to be held in her honour. The tickets are already on sale and considering they are on a first-cum-first serve basis it is advisable to make a trip to the N.C.P.A. before it’s too late.

Naina Pakiza is an aspiring journo and a pianist. Though her choice of instrument is strictly classical she's been rumored to have been a Britney fan. But like she says, thats all ancient history, its been all Tchaikovsky, Rossini and Bellini since she turned 15.
