Lothar Hensel at the NCPA

The Bombay Chamber Orchestra Society is organising what could well be a once in a lifetime treat for Bombay’s music lovers. Lothar Hensel – one of the world’s most renowned Bandoneón player is soloing at Tata Theatre on Sunday 7th September at 6:30 pm. Hensel is a German musician who plays a German Accordion like instrument (Bandoneón) that became really popular in Argentina.

Hensel’s variations in Tango and Latin American chamber music have been not only critically acclaimed but also have been a hit with his audiences. His emphasis lies on infusing the Latin American music he plays with European elements. The guest conductor for the performance will be James Ham who was an award winning flautist prior to pursuing a career in conducting.

Well, not really. He is allegedly a student of Banking and finance, and still cant decide whether he should learn the Bass guitar or the Sax.
