Brutal!! As a songwriter you undergo thorough research work. What i was wondering was what got you hooked to the Egyptian theme?
It’s just a personal interest, really. We happen to love Metal, Egyptology, and all things ancient. So it just kinda works for us.
Also some songs I noticed also have the Lovecraft themes? Do you read HP Lovecraft?
You know it! I have always been a Lovecraft fan – even before I could actually read…
I am always amazed by the amount of technicality you put into each of your album. Do you always challenge yourself to top what you’ve done from a technical point of view?
Yes and No. We don’t consciously say to ourselves “This new song must be “Harder-Faster-Louder”. It is more of an underlying ever-present compulsion. Like a never-ending undying hunger.
Karl, do you feel bad that you are the only remaining member from the original line up?
Bad is perhaps not the best word. I feel a certain sadness that my long time friends and Metal Brothers are no longer with me, Nile is something we built together. We spent many long years working hard and sacrificing to build Nile into what it has become. So it would be nice to have them around. But I am also extremely happy and grateful to be working with Dallas and George nowadays. We have something very special, and I wouldn’t trade those two for anything.
So do you know what Pete Hammoura and Chief Spires are upto now?
Living life and being happy.
Hmm.. Okay so how has George slotted into the band given the close relationship between you (Karl) and Dallas?
Perfectly. Like Dallas, George has made incredible sacrifices to be part of Nile. He has incredible dedication. And work ethic, and he is like a Brother to us.
So far till now which is the hardest and the most technical song you guys have recorded?
Maybe “Invocation to Seditious Heresy” or “ Burning Pits of the Duat” or from the new record ”The Eye of Ra”

Tch..Tch..Tch..how sad..they weren’t even interested in me…wah:(…damn i am such a dickhead ..i take interviews with people who are not even interested in me…
How sad..Metalhead…is your ”Metalhead” filled with a brain so tiny that its totally impossible to comprehend the fact that Gunter Ford who along with Erik Rutan over viewed the interview with Karl are those guys who believe in the fact that ”we give no-nonsense replies like mallcore bands” which you might happen to like…or is your ”Metalhead” filled with such humongous amount of dog poop that its difficult to understand that Karl has answered all those questions deemed sensible to a true metalhead properly showing clear signs of interest…

Or maybe you are not among those ”Elite People Who Comprehended The Interview Properly” as Karl would have said..
