Interview- Dash Berlin

Interview Dash Berlin1. What is that one central idea, to the Dash Berlin sound, that defines and describes who you really are as an artist?

Getting people up on their dancing feet. That’s the mission.

2. How has your craft evolved, right from ‘Sky Falls Down’ to ‘Janeiro’; what are the different moods, techniques that you’re incorporating in your sound as you go in the future?

Life’s a dance, you learn as you go. Most of the stuff is just being spontaneous with sound. I don’t plan it all out. If it works on the dance floor I usually know I’m on to something. The techniques to create music are rapidly evolving these days, but luckily human creativity is still a factor of importance.

3. How is ‘Aropa’ shaping up as a label, and what are your expectations from it in the future?

It’s going quite well. We got a lot of interesting releases coming up. I am always looking for new artists as well, so if India has any undiscovered talent, I am all ears!

4. Tell us about your relationship with Cerf, Mitiska and Jaren with whom you’ve developed such amazing tracks.

Thank you for the compliment. Well, unfortunately it’s mostly an ‘Internet relationship’, because we live so far apart. I am a big fan of their work and Jaren’s beautiful voice. It’s always a pleasure working with them.

5. This is your debut gig in India, what are your expectations from the crowd here?

I feel very honored to be invited to come to and play in India. It’s a new scene for me, so I am going to experience it with an open mind. I am very intrigued by India and it’s culture; it’s going to be special I think.
