We talk to one of India’s supremely famous “super groups”, Scribe. “Normal people do not like Hardcore, and we like it that way.” When a band starts their MySpace profile with those lines, you know you are in for a treat. Inspired by bands of yore, like ‘Sick of it All’, ‘Hatebreed’ as well as newer artists like ‘The Dillinger Escape Plan’, ‘Sikth’ and ‘Walls of Jericho’, the band takes pride in being the torchbearer of ‘Hardcore’ in the country.
Niraj (ex-PDV, Chaos Theory), Srinivas (ex-Chaos Theory), Vishwesh (ex-Split) and Prashant (Exhumation) comprised the original 2005 line-up with Akshay (Skincold) joining them on the guitar completing the quintet that has taken the nation’s metal maniacs by storm.
No champagne, no jalebi, no ribbon cutting, no page 326th party, and no M.R.P! Scribe-New Album-Confect-coming out this I-Rock. Aug 2008! - perfect rhetoric chosen by a fan to mark Scribe’s upcoming release.

Neil Batavia is a guitarist and sings for a fusion death band called Post-Mortal. His influences vary from Jim Morisson to Chuck Schuldiner to Tom Araya and his mood swings have a lot to do with the lunar cycle. He dreams of marrying metal for the rest of his life.
